What is earth hour?
Earth hour is an hour when you switch off all lights and electrical appliances to help save electricy. This years earth hour is on the 28th of March (tomorrow!!!) so please help!

Its snowing again!

Funky scarf

My super cute scarf, so easily made! All you do is cast on a hundred stitches onto size 15 needles. For every row, change colours, but leave the ends of the yasn loose. When you have a wide enough scarf, cast off and tie all the loose ends together to make a raggy tassle. Voila!

C c cold!

Ooh its freezing! My toes are numb! On the way to school today we had to go reeeaaaly slowly because the road was sooo icy! My cat fell through some ice on a puddle today and I had to go save her. She was soaking! I felt so sorry for her!

Green Christmas!!!NOT

LOTS of wrapping and packaging are thrown out after Christmas!!! I will confess, we filled THREE plastic bin bags!!! How can we reduce this?

1. ask for money instead of pressies
2. ask for a charity donation on your behalf
3. recycle any pacaging that does manage to get into your home
4. buy low-packaged presents for young children who will not accept charity donations

Here are some eco friendly pressie ideas for next year:

1. reycycled paper stationary
2. Charity donations
3. virtual gifts (iTunes tokens ect.)
4. hand made items

These gifts (should) be welcomed by even the most plastic loving people!

N.B. put a note in the (reycycled) envelope if you decide to give money saying to please spend it on something eco friendly!

• use staples, not folders
• read magazines then pass them on rather than throwing them away
• Do not print off pages from the web, instead save them on your desktop
• when you do have to print, and when you draw, use both sides of the paper
• make sure your paper is from a sustainable forest.
